We live in an area in West Java that they are unstable land. Our land is bordered by Ocean in the South and volcano in the West. We get earthquake every year.
Recently, Tsunami attacked our land (Pangandaran Beach) which damage our houses, hotel and killed hundreds to thousands people.
However, we never prepare to avoid from accident when earthquake attack us. Also, our government doesn’t give information about it and never trained us.
Finally, we hope to get advantage from this project. We can share information, experience and planning with other students from other countries. So, we can prepare better in the future when earthquake or tsunami attack us.
The projects focuse on Earthquake-tsunami. The objective of this program is tudents are able to:
1. understand the work of earthquakes
2. understand the relationship between earthquakes and tsunami
3. investigate and identify the local earthquake
4. create the map of local earthquake
5. share knowledge and experience with other students in the online discussion
6. create resources which can be forwarded to the local officials
(We worked in a group with Irawan (Science Teacher) and Aris Mujiraharjo (English Teacher)
MINIMUM NUMBER OF SCHOOLS/STUDENTS INVOLVED: 2 – 4 schools / 20 – 80 students
PROPOSED DURATION OF PROJECT: 10 months
